Have never seen wood styleside bed for 65/66 f100. Check out the 'illustrated facts and features manual' purchased from Motorhaven and there is no mention of wood bed for that style truck. Did come across an article in "classic truck magazine" the 12/03, issue where owner had converted metal bed into wood on a bow-tie type styleside bed, looked good. Sometimes can go on line and review various article in the magazine, although since it has been quite sometime since article was written may have to request if interested.
good luck,
dave

Check out the 66 from Georgia, it's the last one on the first page of the 66 gallery on this site, the wood bed is awsome! I would like to find out how he did it.
That Georgia '66 looks like the wood floor was laid over the original steel bed. Check- out the depths on the sidewalls. That's cheatin'. Looks good, though.
I was planning a wood bed for my '64 style side. Would look nicer than my rusted bed. By the look of it all you would have to do is cut out the fenders and spot welded panels. Both side panels of my truck are in good shape, it is the bed floor that need to be replaced.
At the same time I am planning the mustang gas tank under the rear part of the bed.
I thought something looked different about that floor. I love the look that it creates though! I would want to take the steel out first as well as the tank under the floor.
a bed wood supplier (I think it was Bruce Horkey) offered a "Show Deck?" that was a wood floor that sat on the stock steel floor of late-model trucks. You could mount it to plywood and make it portable. Removable when you had to use the truck as a truck but could put it back in for shows.
I'm just redoing the wood bed in my '86 and got all my stuff from Mar-K Classic Truck Parts. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and helpfull, definately worth a call.
I don't know if they have a kit for your truck, but they do have stuff listed for '66 F100 Short and Long Flaresides...
