Under bed tank 66 F100 longbed Styleside

Does anyone know if another tank will fit under the bed of my 66 F100 or where to get an aluminum one fairly easy to install

Thanks 72Redneck I thought I might do that out of aluminum, was thinking of mounting it where the spare was as spare is going along box side, have to check if it would be safe hanging as low as a spare

This is way too funny? Have you been to a salvage yard recently and passed by the gas tank pile???

If no, you need to.

Hey Jowilker: No I havent but I am a little truck renovation challenged, do you think I could just pick a few from the pile and try them? Or is something else funny about my post?

What's funny is that you're attempting to reinvent the wheel. Underbed tanks are very common, and many gas tanks are available for nearly no cost that are ready to just bolt into place under your truck. Orrrrr, you could spend weeks gathering up the stuff to make your own tank, then go to a junkyard for the neck and fittings you'll need OFF THE ALREADY-MADE TANK YOU COULD HAVE USED IN THE FIRST PLACE.

How do I know? Because this is how I got the auxiliary tank for my (wait for it!) 1966 Ford F100 longbed styleside.

Carmanico,
Have a look at this to see if it's what you're looking for.

Carmanico, You asked if another tank would fit under your truck. Drop the tank in question, take photos, & measurements, got to your nearest pick & pull, stop by the gas tank pile and see what you see.

1967/72 F100/350 Stylesides: 25 gallon auxiliary tank optional. 1967/69's have filler tube located in different position than 1970/72.
