Poll: Your V-10 oil usage.

Mine seems to use a quart every 1,800 miles or so. What's your's use? Just check the closest option. If you get 3,000 or more miles with out using oil, post your answer in a reply.

My truck only has about 10,000 miles on it, but I have never lost any oil between changes. I use the synthetic oil.

I have a '99 v-10 with 33,000 miles. Twice I used about a half quart between changes. Since switching to synthetic, I don't use any.

Wow, I never use any between dino oil changes at 3,000 miles, but use 1/2 a quart or so with Mobil 1 synth but I change that at 5,000 miles, maybe that's the diff. I have heard Mobil 1 has a higher evaporative rate than most dino oils, and most synthetic oils. Amsoil advertises a lower evaporative rate than other synths, so I'm going to try that next change. '01 with 108k always use dino oil, no appreciable useage between changes.

3,000 to 3,250 miles between changes since I got it at 72k.

Did switch to Motorcraft filters this last change. (Yesterday actually) because of the rumor they will lessen the start up noise. No opinion yet, other than they are cheaper (For me) than the NAPA premium I was using..

I have the V10 in My Tioga Motor Home. It has used a quart of oil every 1500 miles since new. It has 28000 miles now on it no change. Still a quart 1500 miles. I have heard the earlier V10's were oil burners. One would think in these modern times Ford could do better that that! I can handle the oil issue it is blowing spark plug issue that scares me to death with the V10. Have three freinds that have had them blow out. 2 99's and one 2000. All farm trucks. BTW they use oild too, two of the use a quart in 2000 miless the 2000 model about the same. I have always used what the Ford Owners Manual states 5W-30

2001 4X4 Excursion. 66,700mi. I use Mobile 1 and a Motorcraft Filter. I change my oil anywhere between 4,000 and 5,000mi. Haven't used or lost a noticeable drop ever. Okay, maybe a little on the floor when I miss the drain pan.

You don't have a selection in the poll for NONE.

Castrol 5W30 dino, NO usage whatsoever between changes. '01 V10 SB SC 4x4 w/17K miles (yeah, only 17K).

With gas being what it is, I've layed off beating on it, but before it went sky-high, I would push it quite a bit, and still no oil usage.
