I was wondering how long it takes from the time of order to delivery for a vehicle, and at what point during the year does the factory stop building to order. Specifically I would ask about the 05 Escape XLT 4x4 Sport with MACH audio. (trying to plan when to sell my truck and place order, but bank still owns a portion of it). Still curious about other trucks build time too.
Thanks!
It all depends on the truck. We'll be ordering '05 Escapes for at least another year, so you can buy that one whenever you want. Cut-off dates for '04s were anywhere from October 10th, 2003 (for '04 Escape), to July 2, 2004, for F-150. Build time can take anywhere from 3 weeks to 6 months; again, it depends on the model. Give me some specifics and then I can be specific.
I also ordered my F-150 in early may. Build date of June 21, not sure of delivery date yet. Waiting sucks, but I wanted exactly what I wanted, so it's worth it to me.
I am calling my dealer tomorrow and will be looking for the build date and hopefully ship date. I'll update here as soon as I get the info. I think it is taking longer or has taken longer because of the 133" wheelbase. I know the order was not pulled from my dealer for 2 1/2 weeks and that may be part of it.
Mine also took a few weeks for the order to be picked up. I think my supercrew is scheduled to be built next week but i have no idea how long it takes to receive once it is built.
