some of the flying J off 80 are huge. Only been to a couple of them though. want to go to iowa 80 sometime but i can just drive there to go to a truck stop
I know the listed curb weight of my X is only 60lbs off from weighing it at a certified scale. The curb weight of a CC DRW 4X4 is 6711lbs. Im pretty sure the X is the heavy weight of the super duties but it doesn't weight 8300lbs.
someone is pulling your leg
my 03 6.0/ torqshift CC 4x4 SRW Long Bed with me at 220 and a full tank of fuel and a leer cab high shell weighs in at 7800 pounds

"I have weight slips in all my "stuff" half tank of fuel and one body in it7981 it will tip 8k with no problem"
I posted this above, went back to my notes and discovered I was not in the truck and only had 1/8 tank, I weigh 152, so...the fuel would easily put this truck in the 8150 to 8250 range. The scales I used are certified. It is a 44-gallon tank. Third seat was out of it also, and no gear in it.
Diesel weighs in at 6.9 or 7.1 or…._____ anybody know?

Roughly 7.0 to 7.3 pounds/gallon. Lighter in summer, heavier in winter. The exact weight depends on specific gravity and temperature. Gasoline weighs 6.0 to 6.3 pounds/gallon.
The coefficient of expansion for diesel is 0.00046 per degree F. 44 gallons at 7 pounds per gallon at 50 degrees F would weigh 308.0 pounds. However, at 80 degrees, the fuel volume expands to 44.61 gallons. If you siphon off the extra volume to get back to 44 gallons, that 44 gallons would weigh 303.8 pounds.
I believe that's why airlines buy by weight, not volume.
Spoken to the station attendant: "300 pounds of premium diesel please." Sounds kinda cool, doesn't it?
So I would have needed 38,5 gallons @ 7.0 = 269.5 pounds
The X is over 8100 easy.
It drive and rides like that, pushes a bit going in the corner, if you late brake....
FYI....i went in my truck to the weigh station just up the interstate, and after a pretty funny look from Mr. DOT, my truck and 35ft gooseneck weigh 16,320!! when i bought the trailer, they said it weighed a tad over 7k.
