I suspect you will be well over your limit, get some help. Don't reach my age and can't lift your shoes.

If I recall correctly a drop in FE was said to be between 500 -550 lbs.

Remember you only have one back - been there did things I shouldn't have and have been paying for years. I hear you but wouldn't you still be looking at close to 300 lbs ?

I am with you fl299, i'm thinking around 300 to350 and if it is a floor lift, it is going to be a back breaker

Well, 300 or 350 is beyond what I can dead lift, darn, I hate half assing it. Does anyong have the torque ratings for the FE engine?

check around in your area at some rental places you should be able to rent a cherry picker for a couple hours pull it out and put it on an engine stand.

i am a pretty big guy and my back didnt like me a whole lot for pickin up the bare block. gotta think still gotta get the motor mounts to clear and if tranny is still conneted wiggle guide pins out.

This is a prime example of what the OP posted and what we think he meant when he posted.

Madathlon I don't know what you are thinking, but stop it. You are going to get a nice warm feeling by peeing in your pants, but it is going to turn cold in a few minutes and you will regret it shortly.

Why don't you put where you are in your profile and maybe there is someone that reads this forum that lives close enough by that would be willing to give you a hand.

Here in the south folk have been pulling engines from tree limbs for eons.

Let's get your thinking redirected.
