I just got the exhaust put back together on my truck. Sounds great now. I had it put on all new from manifolds back. I am running a custom made 3 inch y-pipe that has been necked down to fit the manifolds. Then it was meched up to fit a 3.5 inch exhaust system. I am just running a cheapy 3.5 inch diesel muffler from NAPA right now as I wasn't sure what I wanted to put on and really need to have the truck back in service. It looks stock coming ou the back only a touch bigger. The shop did a nice job and even took the time to weld on heatshields under the cab floor and near the rear tank. Hope this gives some Ideas to other folks!
That site looks good too, thanks for the info. Also that sounds like a nice setup. i would throw a cherry bomb on there, instead of the muffler, they are cheap and sound good to me. good luck and thanks
I thought about a cherry bomb but couldn't find one that had a 3.5" inlet and exit. I might go with a flowmaster someday but don't feel like spending 100 bucks for a new muffler. lol. I have flowmasters on my Fairlane now and love them.
Guess what! I found out that thrush sells a glass pack with a 3.5 inch inlet and exhaust. Saw it in summit earlier today. I Should have looked there in the first place. lol.
