I have a 2001 F-350 with the 7.3L Powerstroke in it. I am doing a 3-pod gauge install and am currently hooking up the boost/vac gauge. I'm not sure where I should hook this up at. I want to be able to measure both boost and vacuum, so I am assuming it should be somewhere near the throttle body. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You want it tied in somewhere between the manifold and the turbo.
I can snap a pic of where mine is installed Friday evening and post it to this thread if that would help.
Mine is 5 inches from the Turbo housing. When you do it, route the tube to the guage in heat proof tubing - The Turbo and exhaust get REALLY hot, and melt plastic that is too close.
Thanks for the help everyone, I got it hooked up and I think its working good. How many lbs of boost are you getting? My gauge reads around 12 at max boost, and my truck is totally stock. Also, how high will it go when I get one of those 130 hp chips? Thanks again.
I just hooked up my boost/vac guage and get about 15 to 17 pounds boost when i hit it hard on a hill. Never seen any vacuum, but figured i would if the air filter ever got really clogged.
