I've been trying to fix all the problems with my '75 F-250 caused by the cab mounts rusting away and taking half of the floor pans with them. Symptoms so far have included the clutch rod needing lengthening, the steering column upper bearing breaking and now the windshield is cracking! I know these are all symptoms of the real problem and just addressing them won't fix the cab sinking SO... I need help once again. While some friends down south search for a replacement cab (I haven't found a Wisconsin replacement cab that isn't almost as bad) there was a temporary cure mentioned by "73Custom" that involved putting a board between the frame and the cab bottom.
Marty... it seems you must have experienced similar problems and have answered in the past; so I'm asking for help one more time. Do I just lift the cab up (4x4 through the doors and a chain lift), lay a 2x6 on the frame and lower it back down; or is there more to it? I know you mentioned that this is a very temporary fix, but that's what I need right now. I'm trying to keep this baby going until I can get at the body problems. Mechanically it's fine!
I have done the board between the cab and frame I used a porta power to lift the cab from the frame. I then ran screws from inside the cab into the board good for a temporary fix.
