Anybody going to see Van Halen this summer?

Yo,
Anybody going to see the reunion tour w/ Sammy Hagar? Got my tickets for Jacksonville, FL on Sept. 11 the other day. Yes I know they're old and it is just a ploy to make money, but I imagine Eddie VanHalen can still shred a guitar

You got that right, EVH can shred! I've seen Sammy solo twice in the days before VH, but never saw Van Halen proper. Might roadtrip down to Las Vegas this summer, but it will take some dough. They are charging top dollar. Did you get your tickets online? I've heard there are some nice packages with front row seats, backstage tours, etc.

I gotta believe that seeing Van Hagar in concert is truly money well spent. Some of the best 80's/ early 90's music, and THE BEST video of all time ("Right Now") belongs to them.

Borrowed a friends AOL id so I could get them early. We still had to go through ticketmaster. I hate ticketmaster

I saw them at the opening of the Balance tour here in Pensacola. Outstanding is all I can say. It's been a long long long wait

I have a bootleg of that Pensacola concert! It's called "Blastin'", also has some London concert tunes. It's my best bootleg - straight off the soundboard. "Right Now", "The Seventh Seal", and "When it's Love" with Eddie way out front in the mix...the way it should be.

The P'cola concert was taped for an MTV Spring Break special. I still have that tape

I'm not sure if any tickets are still available in my area, but I'd loke to go. I still wish it was with DLR though. Nothing against Hagar, but I like the original lineup better.

Not sure, $90 per ticket here, that's $270 just for starters (I won't go without my daughter). Have to wonder why they charge so much, yes they're great, but they haven't had a hit in years. I paid $35 for Creed and $60 for Shania, both bigger acts than VH right now. Gotta put a cap on it.

Yeah, Creed and Shania are both selling more albums than Van Halen, but consider that most VH fans are in their peak earning years, while Creed fans are more likely to be just starting out. Plus, like the Eagles and the Rolling Stones, the possibility of it being their last tour makes the fans more willing to cough up big $$. Hopefully Creed and Shania will be around for awhile longer.

I would love to VH, but they are not even coming near my area.

Snagged tickets for the Oklahoma City show! Going to visit an old navy buddy I haven't seen in 22 years, and got 4-star package from Iloveallaccess. Somewhere in the first 20 rows. I love the Internet for being able to get this kind of deal together - got my plane tickets, Van Halen concert tickets, and found my old navy buddy, all on the Internet.
