Van Halen back together - finally!
Heard that Van Halen will announce their 2004 tour with Sammy Hagar tomorrow, March 26th at 11 AM PST. Look for a full page in USA Today too. Finally, the best band in the world is making music again. One of the tour locations is Las Vegas - maybe it could be called "the geezers at Caesar's"!

Van Halen was good back in the day, but Eddie is so full of himself he ruined it. I don't care who is fronting the band they won't get my bucks.
I did see Aerosmith this week and for the AARP eligible bands Tyler kicks butt. He works a stage like no other. No back flip this concert but for a 50 something year old dude he put on a show.

Well, I guess both Diamond Dave and Sammy had bad cases of LSD (Lead Singer Disease), according to Eddie. However, it seems he's finally realized that 1) other than aspiring guitar players, nobody wants to listen to just him playing, and 2) Eddie himself can't sing anything except backup. I would imagine the Van Halen brothers were running into cash flow problems too.

I think Vanhalen is still very good.
My kids listen to them. DLR has definately took a trip over the last ten years.
A friend of mine saw him and sammy in Columbus and he said Dave still rocks.
Eddie and Alex must need to fill the their bank accounts again. But I'm glad to hear they are going at it again.
As far as comparing VanHalen to Poison? Not even Close. Poison was what we call a "Bubble Gum" Rock Band.

if van halen gets back together with sammy hagar its just not the same as the van halen i grew up on and loved their music... i mean 5150 was a good album but van hagar is not nor will it ever be van halen. Ya know if they get anywhere near NJ i may just get tickets... imagne us old farts rockin to that stuff lol
ya know there is a great hatred between sammy hagar and eddie van halen they tried touring once and it ended abruptly with both wanting to beat the tar ooutta each other.. this could be interesting if they all decide to tour...

I agree that David Lee Roth is/was a better showman, but Sammy is a far better singer. I would refer to DLR as a "vocal stylist" rather than a singer. Sammy's lyrics are deeper and more mature, but I would watch DLR's videos over the newer ones. He's truely outrageous, but the schtick gets old when he's pushing 50. Anyway, Van Halen with Sammy is better than no Van Halen at all.
