4.0 questions
I'm looking at buying a 2000 or 2001 explorer xlt 4door 4x4. What are the differences with these engines.
v6-245 4.0l sohc vin e sfi
v6-245 4.0l sohc vin k sfi
v6-245 4.0l vin x sfi
Can you tell by looking at the engine?

Can't say too much about the engines, but the XLT is supposed to be the nicer of the two. The XLT has the chrome grille and bumpers, better seats, and more buttons(meaning more cost). The XLS is a nice looking vehicle too and maybe better value for the dollar.
