5.4 Engine differences for a F250 SD

Does anyone know the difference between
1) "Triton Engine; Ford Engine; 16 Valve Eng.; MFI; SFI Fuel System; SOHC; Block Cast # 2L1E-6015-A3C; Crank Cast # F75E-A17E; Left Head Cast # 2L1E-6090-C20B; Right Head Cast # 2L1E-6090-C20B; No Oil Pan, PI Heads; T/C Installed Cast #2L3E-6C086-BA; SEN; 249"
and
2) "Triton Engine; Ford Engine; 16 Valve Eng.; MFI; SFI Fuel System; SOHC; Block Cast # 2L1E-6015-AD; Crank Cast # F75E-6303-AE; Left Head Cast # 2L1E-6090-DA, PI; Right Head Cast # 2L1E-6090-DA, PI; TIMING COVER AND OIL PAN INSTALLED; SEN; 249

I'm looking into a reman engine and ATK/Spartan lists 2 for a 2002 F250 SD

Looks to me like the first ones just missing the oil pan but maybe I'm missing something. Doubt there'd be any major differences.

It looks like both engines are PI engines which is what you want for an 02'. I will agree I don't see much difference between the two. Though I would be skeptical with a reman engine with no oil pan. Maybe they are trying to have one PI long block fit the Super Duty, E-series, F-150, Expedition and etc so they leave off the oil pan?

Thanks guys. I'm pretty good with the old pushrod motors. I unfortunately don't know a whole lot about the mod motors.

I am referring to the Super Duty only in the following info. The 99' had the lower output non PI engines. The 00'-04' had the higher output PI engines. The main difference between the PI and non PI engines were the cylinder heads, pistons and I believe intake manifold. In 05' Ford switch to the 3V V10 which had quite a few changes. You want a PI engine for your truck. The later production 03' MY and 04' PI engines have the extra thread length in the spark plug hole of the cylinder head to help prevent blow outs.
