I've been looking at mid 90's doner vehicles for a 4.6L auto/od . Whats the difference Between SFI and EFI. And any suggestions on strongest Engine and trans. combo. this will be in my DD
Thanks
Wally
look for a mid 90's vic or bird for your cheapest options . i know the 92-94 have poor heads and intakes , but if you want you can do a little parts changing and cure that . i have a 95 bird lx , 4.6 auto , has a previously installed programmer , and paid 200 bucks for it . i've been driving it for a year now , and other than basic maintenance , a homemade cold air kit and duals w/ flowmasters i got maybe 1000 all told in it . buy one drive it whilst ya work on your toy and then take her apart . it'll give ya a chance to play and work the bugs out before hand !!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks 55 f350;
For your input. I put this truck (59 f250 4x4) in storage 10 years ago, and will be bringing it to the house on monday. I can't make up my mind which way to go, Back to stock or cleanup the cleveland in it now or update to a 4.6. I'm leaning toward the 4.6L. I like the idea of picking up an mark Viii and driving it while working on other issues such chassis&bodywork !
