I am glad to see there is someone here close to me also "98 nascartruck".
I picked her up today and got her safety done. All she needed is a couple brake cables and maybe a rear link kit soon. Its got a 351w I think (got to sort that out once I figure out which one is which). It originally had a 5.0 L in it at least thats what the tag says under the hood. Apparently the 351 was rebuilt and installed 55k ago. I have to check out the Transfer case to see what it has but I am pretty sure the tranny is a C6 (17 bolts). She runs strong, pulls hard so I hope she is good to me. Its my first truck, Finally !! only took forty years LOL. Never thought it would be a ford, but the price was right. She needs a little TLC, cab corners are starting to go, the roof on drivers side by the rain gutter is bubbling and some work on the box and she will be as good as new.
Hopefully I will see you guys around here, I have a lot of learning to do so I can get up to speed on a F150...Let the fun begin...
Cheers all, I will now attempt to post some pics for your viewing pleasure, here goes nuthin !!!

Should only be 5 pics, I can see them all not really sure whats wrong. How many pics do you see ??
The oil pan needs to be removed and a new gasket installed. I am not sure yet if the pan is no good. The dipstick tube needs to be replaced as well. It will have to wait till the snow is gone before I do anything. At least it will stop it from rusting out anymore
I think I will have to really start going over the truck and start cleaning her up, it mostly sat for the past 7 years, dump runs home depot etc.. I had her out in the snow today and tried the 4x4, works beautiful...so far so good !! Thanks for the heads up on the 351w.
Thanks for the info on the show and the link Rick. I would love to go check that out.. I will have to get the wrenches out and start working in the spring to get her cleaned up. She looks good but there is some rust bubbles etc.. that will need to be taken care of in the spring.

There are some pictures in my Gallery of last years show if you're interested or
just click on this link for most of them.
Thanks for the link, those were some nice pics, I am assuming the bronco at the beginning is yours. she looks very nice and clean. I wish I had mine that clean. It will be a while before mine gets there. ( A little bit of $$ Too I will definitely try to make it this year. If I come out I will trailer my bike. If they don't like the look of the truck the bike is way cleaner and better to look at Is there camping there at all ?
That F150 looks like loads of fun. Making me miss mine back in SoCal. My suburban life is also taking a toll on my PSD, turning it in to weekend driver. Hopefully things will change and I'll go from being a telecommuter to a real truck drivin man again soon. Used to be the best parts of the day, driving my truck.

Correct LOL it's the Green Bronco, I have the build pictures in my Gallery, lucky for me I have a great friend who is much skilled at paint and body he and I did a complete paint and body job in 5 weeks(pictures are in my gallery)
Also I took the Bronco to the show before it was gussied up two years in a row rust and all, never heard one negative comment only encouragement of my plans to improve the truck.

You probably took medicine for it but it sounds like your old Ford truck fever is coming back
I got to go for my first real ride in the truck today. Tried out the 4x4 in the snow !! I had a lot of fun, she drives like a real truck. I think I should of worn my kidney belt, its been a long while since I drove a truck like this. Brings back a lot of memories. I had a great day, felt good.
Sometimes triskadek you have to answer the call, problem for me right now is I am looking for any reason to go for a drive, I shoveled the driveway and had to move the truck which turned into me driving around the block a couple of times..I feel like a kid again

Rick.
Sounds good Rick, I will look forward to it. I wanna go camping this year with the wife and kid so this could be one destination. I am not worried to much about the truck.
I would like to get the serious stuff under control so it does not go further. I think I am gonna try my hand at some body work this spring and summer. Something tells me I am gonna open up a can a worms, I will pick one spot and the next thing you know the whole truck will be in pieces LOL.
Great looking truck and maybe you can make it to a cruise night in Burlington on Wednesday nights. I am usually there if the weather is nice and dry and this cruise night starts in mid May!!!
I am going to try for Burlington cruise this year.

It's where I bought the Bronco and maybe I'll have time to let the old owner have a look at the upgrades.
Maybe post the location and dates and times as we get closer to spring.
