Anyone here installed a Lokar kickdown cable on their C6 in conjunction with a Holley carb? I just got one and the instructions are horrible.
Does anyone have some pix of how one is properly installed on the side of their C6? Did you need to use the Lokar carb bracket in order to secure it to the carb?
I installed a Lokar cable on my C-6 / Edelbrock 750. You are correct, the instructions stink! I had to make a bracket to hold the cable forward of the carb. This makes it work as a pull-pull. meaning I pull the kickdown towards the back of the truck and then up at the carb, I pull the cable towards the back of the truck. It works well and I made the bracket out of 1"x2" L channel 1/8" aluminum so it polished up nicely.
If you need pictures let me know, I can snap a few tonight and email ya them
I just replaced my Holley 4180 w/ a Carter AFB and am considering using the Lokar cable. If you have them could you email some pix's of your installation?? Mine is on my motorhome - a 1987 E350 cutaway chassis w/460 engine and C6 AT.
