Hi all,
I just purchased a demon 750 cfm carb with Ford linkage for my 396 Fe. Carb bolts up fine now, but my kickdown tube I believe is too short. It is about halfway on the throttle stroke and when I punch the gas pedal I don't get the down shift. Does anybody have any ideas on maybe modifying the standard kickdown tube? Or has anyone messed around with the Lokar setup for the C-6? I think the Lokar setup would look cleaner but it is a little pricey but I guess if it worked than it would be worth it? Thanks for all your help as always!
I used a "budget c-6 cable kickdown" off ebay that worked well. Quality was better than the Lokar kit I have purchased before, the cable is heavier. You can save $20 or so. My intake combo was so tall that lengthening the rod was a pain to get stable geometry . Originally there was an additional guide that bolted on the firewall or head to guide the rod and prevent it from flopping over sideways. The cable kit makes it easy if you have the extra money.
Thanks for all of the replies guys Im trying Bobby's idea currently and not Im just waiting to put it back together. Thanks again for all the help guys.
