CD error

CD error
Help, I removed a Radio/CD with 6 cd changer all in one from my 2001 Excursion which was working great and I'm trying to install it on a 2001 F250 but I'm getting a CD error. any ideas, what does CD error mean. Thanks Rick

Ran into the same problem when I put in a stock cd/cassette unit into a 2001 F150. Turned on the unit, radio and cassette worked fine, slip in a cd, the unit churned, faintly beeped, and ejected the cd with "cd error" message. Tried several cds, all with the same result. I then tried to start the truck... nothing but starter relay chatter. Turned out, I had left the glove box light on overnight and had run down the battery just enough to braindead the cd function. A quick jumpstart and the unit worked flawlessly.
