I have an 86 f 150 5.0 ND WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO CONVERTING TO A ROLLER CAM BUT IDONT KNOW IF IT IS ROLLER READY. HOW CAN I TELL FOR SURE WITH OUT REMOVING INTAKE? CASTING #S BEGIN E6...
The easiest way on a 5.0 I believe is take a look at your firing order, what is it? Most, if not all, roller or h.o. 5.0 motors I believe came with roller cams as the 5.8 roller blocks in some cases didn't.
If your firing order is 13726548 then its probably a roller or someone stuck a 351w flat tappet cam in there.
Best way, take the intake off and look at the oil valley, you will see two holes that accept small bolts to hold the spider retainer down.
I don't think the truck 5.0's were roller or roller compatible in 86 if the motor is original.
Sorry I don't have a concrete answer, maybe someone will, good luck
