Roller cam

I have a 1995 f-150 and was wondering if it had a roller cam in it or a regular cam. If it does not have a roller cam is the block compatible with one. Thanks

Roller cam

Roller cam engines have special guides for the lifters installed. You can convert any non-roller to roller using a kit. As far as what type engine you have I haven't a clue without a casing #. Look on the bottom of the block next to the starter for the casting #.

Roller cam

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 13-Feb-02 AT 06:23 PM (EST)]A 95 block probably does have a roller cam or at least is set up to accept one.

The lifter bores are taller and are machined flat on top, also in the lifter valley are two tapped 1/4" holes for mounting the lifter guide hold down (spider?).

My 94 351w block (F4TE) did not have a roller cam, but is set up for one.

My engine was origionally in a boat (Pleasurecraft Marine Engine Company"Pro Boss GT40 EFI"), but it is a truck block.

It cost me about $150 two years ago to buy all the parts for the conversion, lifters, pushrods, lifter guides (dogbones?), and spider, and steel distributor gear. I got the cam (E303) free.

I used all Ford Motorsport parts. Aftermarket companies sell kits for about $300, plus the cam.
