Bolt Size Question?

Does anyone know the size of the bolt used to bolt the bellhousing to the block? I am putting a 1990 351W EFI on an engine stand and don't have the bellhousing to pull a bolt from. I'm thinking 7/16", but I'm not sure.

Thanks,

Longneck

i was putting a 5.0L on a stand and i called ford they gave me 7/16 but i couldnt find any 7/16s bolts. i checked home depo ,lowes, napa, auto zone, local hard ware. i ended up using the two bolts that fit the motor mounts and 2 3/8X 3.5 bolts with a lot of washers and a nut to get it on the stand. its been on there a cupple of days now and hasent fallen off.

I'll double check tomorrow, maybe someone will give a 100% accurate answer before then.

I will try and find some 7/16" bolts, but how long should I get? An inch longer than the stand bolt guides? 2 inches longer? How deep do the threads go in there?
Thanks for all the help so far, you guys are great!

Ok, I just found the sheet I got with my Lakewood bellhousing, the bolts are 7/16 x 1 and 7/16 x 3/4 that they used.

They are 7/16 and you will not find them at a hardware store. Auto parts store or industrial supply.

Thanks guys! It seems like everyone here always goes out of their way to help a guy and I really appreciate it. I have been working 4-10's this week, so I will find some bolts when I am off on Friday (the same day I pick up my engine stand and start getting dirty).

Thanks,

Longneck
