Does anyone know the size of the bolt used to bolt the bellhousing to the block? I am putting a 1990 351W EFI on an engine stand and don't have the bellhousing to pull a bolt from. I'm thinking 7/16", but I'm not sure.
Thanks,
Longneck

i was putting a 5.0L on a stand and i called ford they gave me 7/16 but i couldnt find any 7/16s bolts. i checked home depo ,lowes, napa, auto zone, local hard ware. i ended up using the two bolts that fit the motor mounts and 2 3/8X 3.5 bolts with a lot of washers and a nut to get it on the stand. its been on there a cupple of days now and hasent fallen off.
I will try and find some 7/16" bolts, but how long should I get? An inch longer than the stand bolt guides? 2 inches longer? How deep do the threads go in there?
Thanks for all the help so far, you guys are great!
Thanks guys! It seems like everyone here always goes out of their way to help a guy and I really appreciate it. I have been working 4-10's this week, so I will find some bolts when I am off on Friday (the same day I pick up my engine stand and start getting dirty).
