Bolt Size for Engine Stand???

I didn't take the engine, 1990 351W EFI, out of the truck so I have no idea what size bolts I need to connect it to the engine stand, can someone help?? What size, length and grade should I get?

Thanks,

Longneck

i took one bolt from where the bell housing bolts to the block and took it to the construction bolt supply house and asked for 4 bolts that size 3 inches long. cost me $1.37 for all four of them.i hope that helps some!

Well, atleast I know how long it is. But the problem is I don't have that bolt, I need to know what size it is. I will see if I have anything that screws into it tonight.

longneck, is the transmission out of the truck? if it is not and it is still bolted to the engine then just reach right around to the back of the engine and take one of the top bolts out that is holding the tranny to the engine and take that to the bolt supply house. if the tranny is out and you don't have a bolt i believe when they measured my bolt for my 302 it was 3/8ths coarse thread. i hope that helps some.

The tranny is gone, but I will try and pick up a 3/8" coarse bolt on the way home and try it.

Thanks,
