I can see daylight through my door and there is a lot of wind noise as well. My weather stripping was worn out but still intact. I pinched off the top half of the weather stripping with duct tape and taped over all of the holes in it. then I got a can of fix-a-flat and put an inflator needle on the end of it(the one for basketballs and footballs). then I inserted the needle into the hollow weather stripping and filled it up, let it set about an hour, and it has more spring in it now and I dont have half of the wind noise. I still need to fix the door.
Had the same problem in my 95....check the hinges, if there is any play in either one (especially the top one) that can be the culprit. It was in my case. The hinge pin in the center of my top hinge was worn. I was able to check this by opening up the door and lifting up on it while looking at the hinge pin. Replaced the hinge..no more problems.
My '96 Bronco does not have this problem, but my Father's 94 F150 did. It appeared on close inspection that the leading edge of the door fram at the top stuck out a little. He thought about having the hinge adjusted, but just turned up his music instead. We figured it was due to pulling on the door as he entered all of the time. Just something to check out.
Yes....When I replaced mine I took the whole door off and supported it on a high-backed chair and some 2X's...this whole operation is 300times easier with another set of hands, in retrospect that is the only thing I regret....is not grabbbing a buddy to help. Otherwise it's a straight-forward operation.
One day It was driving me nuts on a trip, so I rolled the window down and stuck my knee in the middle of the door and pulled on the top as hard as I could while my friend pushed on the bottom of the door hard. Worked great for awhile, but came back in a day or two. I know it sounds like it shouldn’t have helped, but it did.
