Quick transfer case question

How hard (or is it even possible) to put a transfer case from a 1987 f150 with a NP435 onto a t-18 from a two wheel drive. Would it require taking the transmissions apart?

I tried both posting it on the tranny board and searching with no luck. so I thought I might give this board a try.

I'm thinking you would want to use a T18 from a 4wd because of the difference in output shafts and housings on the 2wd and 4wd versions. Advanced Adaptors or Novak may have an adaptor shaft and housing to mate the 2wd T18 to whatever transfer case you have. I think they have them for mating the 2wd T18 to a Spicer 20 t-case in early Broncos.
