Transfer cases...

What are the differences between the BW 13-56 and BW 13-45 manual transfer cases? Are there differences in strength and/or gear ratios?
Thanks for the help!

Katt,
I think the BW 1345 was / is used in the Rangers and Explorers ? Not a lot of major differences that I can think of other than they were a little smaller to accomodate the smaller vehicles . Ive got the BW 1356 in my F150 ,manual shift .

My chiltons says that the BW 1345 was used in the event of a shortage of 1356 in the F150's. I was just wondering if there were any major differences.
Thanks for the help
