I have a 77 250 highboy that I've stripped down and now am putting back together and I need the transfer case mounts ford obsoleted the mounts and im tring to come up with something that will work and hold together can anyone help ?
When I replaced mine maybe 3 years ago, the guy at the parts store went through some catalogs and found me some motor mounts from a chevy that looked similar, but they didn't hold up very well, and my t-case fell off on one side after about 4 months. I think the mounts were too hard/stiff. I was lucky enough to be in Golden, CO at the time, and found a small mom & pop parts store that had a set, covered in a thick layer of dust .
I think you should try and get 8 pieces of 1" thick rubber or polyurethane (not anything really hard though) and 16 washers, put holes in the rubber and washers on either side, and I think you'll be in good shape. I think a plastics shop should be able to hook you up.
thanks but i found a web page jeffsbroncograveyard and they say body mounts for a 66-77 bronco work perfect in fact they garrentee it 45 for a set ill try it and see also the front clip or radiator core upper mounts will work but they are expensive out of lmc
