i have a western diesel tri power chip after about 5 months it stoped working(switching between power modes) they have replaced the switch 3 times to no avail.i have tried every one of there trouble shooting fixes, it has now been 2 years and i can not solve the problem. now that i am out of warranty and they no longer make the chip they said they will sell me their new quad power chip for 1/2 price($300.00) i paid $800.00for the first one, so they want me to go in for a chip for $1100.00. i liked the chip when it worked but that was a minority of the time i have owned it. i own a western diesel chip, and i would say do not by one. look somewhere else , at least you could not be treated any worse!

I have the BD Evolution programmer and LOVE IT. The price is comparable to the BD Xpower chip, but the programmer has 3 program options. So far, fuel mileage is up, but I do not yet have enough history to draw real conclusions on mileage. No problems so far, and my Ford dealer has been very supportive.

There is another product out there called the Edge Evolution programmer. These are not the same, though BD is using Edge's hardware, the programs are different. (Edge's is more aggressive. My Ford dealer warned me away from the Edge brand.)

i forgot to add this in my first post would it be better for
heavy towing and climbing big hills with a regular chip/
tuner or a custom burnt chip? I kinda think one of the 2
i stated earlier would be fine but i dont know? I really
can't afford the western diesel chip so i geuss i'm left
with the bd option.oh is the bd x power a single bank chip?

Why would BD be your last option? What about Superchips, Diablo, T/S Performance, Diesel innovations, Diesel Performance Specialists, Banks, Edge, The list is almost endless.

Nobody that I am aware sells a single bank chip anymore. You can get a chip with only one program, but it's a four bank chip.
