Jc whitney exaust

I have a 1979 F100 with a 302 and Summit racing's headers. Has anyone tried to use JC Whitney's or LMC's dual exaust kits with this set up?

The biggest question is with mounting it up to the headers and clearing the transmission crossmember. Anyone have any suggestions? I can't find a shop to toiuch it because I dont have or want cats.

Thanks

Hmm...no shop will touch it? Thats garbage. I believe 1984 is the cutoff year for emissions stuff now. JC Whitney is notorious for selling crap, so honestly I dont have high hopes for their tubing. Have you posted in youre particular regional forum, and asked about shops that can do the work for you? I would definately worry about clearance issues with an off the shelf kit for a 25 year old truck.

I would think 25 years would be lots of time to get the clearance issues tidied up.

From: Destin/Ft. Walton Beach,
I've used both LMC and JCW. They're pretty much the same quality. Both mandrel bent, 2 1/4" aluminized pipe. Both kits come long enough for a long bed. You cut off what you don't need. The big difference is, that the JCW system crosses over to the passenger side, and both pipes run down that side. Then the left pipe crosses back over. I guess this was in case you have dual gas tanks. I've installed two of the JCW systems, and took the time to re engineer them to be true duals by cutting and welding. One on each side. A lot of extra work. Buy the LMC kit, unless you have dual tanks.
