The thing that bothers me about the Fabtech is the fact that they grind and cut parts off of your truck when installing the lift. I know it's probably not that big of a deal, but to plop down 30+ grand on a truck only to have stuff cut off just doesn't sit well with me.
I wouldn't say I'm crazy about that either, but I actually prefer the Fabtech grinding method vs. the way the other companies go around the issue. BTW it's just one spot and a pretty small one at that.
Don't get me wrong. I think both kits are excellent from what I've seen and read.
WEAPON!!! Hurry up and get those pictures up. I WANT TO SEEEEEE!!! The more lifted '04's I see the faster I want to get a lift. You already turn heads driving the "New F150", but with a lift and tires... oh man. I'm definately going to wait a while though. I put a lift on my 02 FX4 Ranger when it was less than 3 months old and after about a year I couldn't stand the truck anymore. The lift had nothing to do with my dislike towards it. The truck just had a LOT of problems... mostly quality issues. This is actually the only reason I went to a F150. Ford builds the F150 to higher quality standards than the Ranger because they make more money on it. The Ranger is a cheap vehicle marketed and sold mainly to youth. Unfortunately my $27k Ranger wasn't necessarily "cheap", but it was still built in the same plant as the $15k base Ranger.
Anyways. I'm rambling on... just my $.02
Weapon - I hope you like your lift and please post some pics.
