94 explorer
code 332 egr valve opening not detected
code 335 egr sensor voltage out of range
My question is is this the DPFE sensor otherwise known as the EGR position sensor ? I have read the other threads on this subject , but after checking vacumn lines I get the inpression that this is the culprit . The part is only about 60 bucks but i hate to buy one and it not be the problem. Please help me be a hero with my wife and help if you can . Thanks
I had the 332 code and first replaced the egr on my 95. Wrong move, did not fix it. the DPFE is the egr postion sensor. It tells the computer when the valve is open. Replace it and your codes will probally go away, it worked for me.
I have a 95 Explorer 4.0 with the 335 code. My vacuum line diagram shows an 'EVR' which has 2 vaccum lines - one of which is connected to the EGR valve. It also has 2 electrical wires. It is mounted on the driver side of the upper intake. Is the 'EVR' the same as the DPFE? I need a little help with all the acronyms and to understand if the parts are the same thing.
No they are not the same. Evr is egr vacuum regulator solenoid and dpfe is selta feedback egr sensor. The evr regulates vacuum to the egr. The dpfe is in the tube from the exhaust manifold to the egr, it has 2 tubes to it from the tube, and a 3 wire connector. It tells the computer if the egr is working. Hope this helps.
