EGR CODE 332 94 explorer Ford Gurus Needed!!
EGR code 332 according to All Data is "Insufficient EGR flow", this is a "Continious Memory Code" as well. Ok, check engine lite will come on and off depending on engine Rpm usually 2000 or so when the EGR is functioning, or trying to function in this situation. Actually I believe it is functioning. I replaced the EVR (Exhaust vacuum Regulator)Sensor first in an attempt to fix it. I havent replaced the DPFE sensor yet, but have inspected the hoses on that sensor and they are somewhat worn, no cracks but soft in spots, plus the thicker one of the two has white soot like stuff in it. I replaced the EGR itself as well with a NAPA one and i think its the wrong one its got two holes in the side of it by where it screws into the EGR tube and I can hear it whistle while I drive and can hear it working and whatnot, but I think my next step is to change the DPFE sensor and vacuum hoses and clean the EGR Tube that goes into the exhaust downpipe. If theres anyone out there that can clear this up for me please by all means let me know, i have the knowhow and facilities readily available to fix this just not enough time between work and school. I'm majoring in auto tech.Thanx guys

EGR CODE 332 94 explorer Ford Gurus Needed!!
Well I've just been through the whole CODE 332 thing with my '95 EB Explorer. The short story is that it was my $70 Dollar DPFE sensor, and when I took it off I noticed the tubes were full of crusty white powder.
The long story is this.
about 3 months ago I noticed my car was hesitating slightly at about 2000 rpm (50-60 mph). I took it to the dealer and they said nothing was wrong
($150.00) and no solution
Then about 2 months ago I noticed my "Check Engine Light"(MIL) was coming on once and a while. I took it to the same dealer and they told me to wait until it was on all the time so they could get the code
(No Cost, I've since learned they could have read the old code even though the MIL light had gone off)
Then about 1 week ago I had it at a tranny shop for a check up and the technician alerted me to the fact that a 332 code was stored. He told me it was an EGR valve failure, so I changed the EGR valve
($85.00) but the MIL light kept coming on anyway
Then this morning, Thanks to this board, I learned how to read the codes myself with a wire jumper. I found out that the 332 error really point to the EVP solonoid or DPFE sensor. I tried the solonoid first and finally after changing the DPFE sensor...THE HESITATION AT @))) RPM IS GONE, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DOES NOT COME BACK ON.
($108.00) and the problem is fixed
Total cost $350.00 and a bad taste in my mouth about that dealer who told me to ignore it until it got worse.

Jason,
Thanks for your story. I just found out about this website because I am searching for into about my truck ('91 4x4 XLT). I just got a check engine light, and I am interested in finding out how to read the computer codes without going to a shop. Thanks for any info.
