1997 5.4L 4x2 Supercab, 373 rear
120,000 miles on truck. Replace motor last july with
one with 42,000 miles on it.
K&N cold air kit.
K&N catback exhaust
Superchips 1715
Hellwig rear sway bar kit
Energy front sway bar bushings
Now 17x9-1/2 Centerline Wheels
Falken 285/60-17 tires
I have new SVT 18x9-1/2 Chrome Wheels
that I will put on when I replace my tires soon.
Upper and lower billet grills
Replaced stock backup lights with 3156 halogen's (not bright enought and going to have to fix that).
Replaced the headlight assy with Sylvania x2010 HID headlight kit.
The nice thing about these is they are made for HID bulbs. I dont have
a problem with other driver or the law.
These use a 35W HID for low beams and 55W halogen for high beams.
I'm looking at upgrading the bulb/ballast to 50W HID's for all 4 bulbs.

..............................Halogen...... 35W H.I.D.... 50W H.I.D
........Bulb Wattage... 12V 55W...... 12V 35W..... 12V 50W
......Max Brightness.. 67,500 cd... 202,500 cd... 350,000 cd
................ Lumen.... 1,500 lm..... 3,200 lm...... 5,100 lm
Default Color Temp..... 4,300k........ 6000k.......... 6000k

http://www.hidfoglight.com/customerService/whyhid.html

This should bring the candlepower up to about 1,400,000 with out
adding lights on my bumper. I like to get as much light as I can from
the stock locations. Then I may add a some lights in the lower bumper
opening.

Hi b2747,
Sorry, I just noticed that this post is for F150 7700's
I dont know if you are asking me about having the spindles redone. My is a F150(not 7700) and the Lightning wheels have the same bolt pattern.
I just got info. on a STS system for my truck.
They have a bolt on system for 97 - 03 F150's now.
7lbs boost, 315 hp, 409 t
9lbs, 331 hp, 430 t
Lots of $$. Maybe my tax return will help.

Unhappy 97 F250ld

Hello Firemedic

I see you have dual exhaust. What brand did you use, Is it stainless steel, Did it inprove your gas milage and performance? I have been toying with putting them on my 97 F250LD. Reg cab 8' bed 4.6. Put in a 02 interior with buckets an center console. GPS and overhead console with Temp and Compass from an 01. also did you have to move your spair tire when you installed the exhaust?

I didn't add the flowmaster for more HP or mpg improvement. I get 17mpg on highway. Same as before muffler install. I did it to make it sound good. The system is not a true dual because of the Cat convertor. I went to Midas Muffler and had them install it. The duals come out the rear on each side of the spare. Stainless is way too expensive for me. I went with an aluminized system. It has a 3" piece from cat to muffler. Muffler is a Deltaflow 40 Flowmaster. It has two 2.5" pipes out. I went to Youtube and listened to videos of others with a 4.6 and flowmasters and I liked the sound of the deltaflow. The muffler shop tried to talk me out of the deltaflow 40 but I had it done anyway. It has a nice rumble at startup, and isn't so loud that I can't hear the radio. I am real happy with it. It you want lots of noise then a regular 40 series Flowmaster would be good. Whole muffler system cost me $620.00.

My 97 is all stock except for flowmaster and step bars. Would like to change rims but it is almost impossible to find 7 lug rims that I can afford.

Talking 97 F250LD Exhaust

I got tired of the 7 bolt rimes so I swaped out the front spindles and rear. I used a 02 as the doner truck. Ford said the front spindles were the same except for the brakes. I kept the 250 brakes. I swaped the rear because I wanted a posi but that did lower my total weight cap. The rimes are Alum Alloy from a 01, They look real sharp. I swaped out the interior to a 02 you know bucket seats and center console, Electric windows and door locks with remote entry and door key pad.
