94 with E40D slips a little. I in process of lifting and building the motor. But if i keep the E40D trany it will cost around $1500.00 to rebuild. The catch is I'm going back to a carb and on electronics, no computer to manage trany. Has anyone elese done this. Any sugestions!
Yup if you're getting rid of the EFI and computer go with a C-6. don't forget though that you'll be losing your OD so your gas mileage will go down considerably on highway driving. I have a C-6 out of a 90, wanna trade?
I have already sold the E40D to a fellow Bronco owner with a bum trany. I want to get away from expensive electronics, I don't know enough about EFI to make the 400hp + i want. But i can make a Holly sing in the mud. I havent measured the length to see if i need to move tranny mount yet. it shouldn't be hard since my Bronco is just a frame now. Starting from the ground up.
If the E4OD is the same length as a ZF trans then you will need to move the cross member forward around 3 inches or so. I have a C6 in my centurion now and plan on swapping in a ZF when I have time. I measured the two trans, the ZF is sitting in the garage waiting to be swapped in.
