Cab vibration damper ?
I purchased a stripped 96 truck cab from a junk yard for the floors and rockers.
This cab has a large cast iron weight affixed to the backside of the cab by rubber grommets. Would anyone truthfully know the rationale behind this?

What I find odd is I've only seen these weights on a few trucks. My aunt's old 95' had them, my 96 does not.

Are you the original owner? Do you see the bolts where they may have been mounted at one time and now removed? My 96' has them. That's all I got other than your truck was built on a Friday afternoon after a liquid lunch!! Lol.
