steering coupling...(rag joint)

I,m wondering if theres a way to eliminate/modify the steering coupling on my 76 F100 as the holes in it are worn so much that replacing the "rag" is useless. What would be the best way to fix this?

Thank you Bob but I was referring to the flange above the rag that looks to be pressed on the steering shaft, how can I get that off the shaft?

Use an 12 point 11mm or 7/16" wrench or socket ,and loosen it so the flange slides off.
Both come off this way

OK thanks, the further I go the worse it gets. When I got the joint disconnected I found that there is lots of play (3/4") or more in the shaft goin into the steering gearbox,so do I have to replace the box or can I get parts and rebuild it ?
