Well, I took the plunge yesterday and traded the Dodge for this:
It is a 2001 Ford F-250 4x4 V10. I think it is a very good looking truck and I am happy with the trade.
I was paying $435/month for the Dodge and I was able to get this one down to $381 with an extended warranty. The truck now has 24,000 miles on it and it runs like a charm.
It was a previous corporate vehicle and the carfax report only had one instance listed on it. It seems that the transfer case had a crack in it (factory default) and it was replaced.
Of course, the dealership gave me a full tank of gas when I bought it - he (the sales guy) was cussing because it took $48 to fill it up...LOL

Yeah - better make friends with the fuel station. At least the V10 delivers some pulling power for what it drinks in gas. And it isn't really much worse than the anemic 5.4.
That looks like a long box - how is it when parking? Did you get an auto or a 6spd?

Bill
Yeah, I noticed that this morning (gas mileage). I drove it to work yesterday (30 miles one way) and to town and to here I am building my house (20 miles round trip) and then back to work again today. When I got out, I had just a little over 3/4 tank left.
I beleive that this truck has a 36 gallon tank, so figuring 110 - 120 miles on roughly 9 gallons of gas, I am getting approximately 12 mpg. Which is realistically not much worse than my Dodge was getting with a 5.9 in it.
Yes, the truck is a long box. I love it because it looks like a stretched limo...LOL.
Haven't really had much problems parking it. I almost always back in to parking spots, so I take a little extra time making sure that I am a safe distance away from the car behind me.
What throws me off about backing it up is that the mirrors have those small little round mirrors to cover the blind spots. For some reason, I find myself looking at those more so than the big mirror. Guess I have to get used to that.
Sorry wbarber - I forgot to answer the rest of your question.
It is an automatic. It has manual transfer case and manual locking hubs. It is a glorified work truck in my opinion. It has the rubber flooring and a bench vinyl seat in front. I plan on replacing the bench with either a 40/20/40 split or just two bucket seats and a custom console in the center.
I also plan on installing carpet in the future. Seeing as how I also compete in car stereo competitions and I will be installing my stereo system in this truck, I will probably leave the rubber mat in and use it as a sound dampener.
