I had already done a search trying to find out how to get my rear window to go up and I found the one that tells you to hook the two wires that go to the window motor to a battery. I tried that and nothing happened, so does this mean that the window motor is gone? and if so, how do I get my window to go up or get it out to change the motor?
remove carpet and access panels on interior of tailgate....
and remove the motor along with the sprocket assembly....then replace motor and sprocket assy as needed....
PS the switch can sometimes get misaligned and cause a non working key switch in the rear or at the front switch....do pop it open and adjust the contacts....this plagued me for two hours and I finally did a search here...
If had been working but is now stuck down, press as hard as you can near the key swithch on the tailgate while your turn the key. If that makes a difference, lower the gate like Capone said and adjust your striker as little. Took me awhile to get mine adjusted as well.
Look in this forum a little more. There have been some posts that have links on how to get the window back up so you can access the motor and everything else. If you do get the window moving again....do make sure that if you get it moving with the tailgate down, you support the glass...or I can almost guarantee you will shatter it.
to remove the glass you must remove the access panel. you will see 2 tracs that are bolted to the window. they have 2 nuts each. if you undue the nuts you will be able to pull the window up and out of your way.if you want to remove it completely you have to remove the weathestripping so the tracks will fit through ythe opening. you MUST SUPPORT THE WINDOW IF THE TAILGATE IS OPEN OR THE WINDOW WILL SHATTER.
