The easiest way to check will be to take it to your dealer and let them run a cylinder contribution test. My dealer charged $75.00 and it will tell you wich cylinders are producing below norm power.

But before you do that you might want to check the wiring harness that runs through the valve cover gasket. Its possible it could be bad and causing an injector not to fuel.

Another way for an at home test would be to remove the valve covers and with the engine running remove the wiring to each injector, one at a time, and see if the miss gets worse. If it doesnt or just marginally worse on one or two injectors then they are probably bad or going bad. This method can be messy and takes from 1 to 3 hours depending on how good you are turning wrenches.

I would recommend taking to dealer. No guess work. Thats what I did about six months ago. Had 3 bad injectors. Changed them out myself. Took six hours from start to finish. Several good threads here for instructions on how to change injectors.

When I had one bad injector, my injector drive module (IDM) also failed. Coincidence? I think not.

So that code showed.

I think the complication with replacing injectors is making sure all of the oil is drained before you take it out and replace it. Not sure if there is anything special necessary to do this. If I remember from my manual, I don't think there was. I chose to have the dealer replace mine since
1) it was cold
2) i'm in school
3) it is insurance if they don't get all the oil out.

The trouble with glow plugs, as I have read, is getting to them since they are so small and far down. So you need a socket extension and then a little piece of hose to pull them out since a hand won't fit to grab them.
