you wont have to worry about the oil filter if you get the kit from summit that removes the oil filter from the engine and then mounts it anyplace else you want to put it. my oil filter is mounted up front next to the radiator. makes changing the filter a breeze, and it doesnt leak oil all over the place. the complete kit is like 45 bucks.

just call them and tell them what your looking for. i dont have the catalog here with me. it is called oil filter bypass relocate or something like that, just tell them you want the oil filter removed from the block and remounted elsewhere. he will ask you if you want a dual oilfilter kit or a single one. i like the dual, but i got the big oil pump so i can handle two filters without making it work too hard. i am sure JEGS has it too if you want it from them.

I hope my answer will suffice. Ratsmoker may not check in for a bit. Yes, they will fit! FE valve covers are interchangeable. There may be a couple of very rare expceptions form the hi-po 427 family (Tunnel port and SOHC setups etc).

The valve covers on mine fit now, i bought them from a shop on ebay. they are made in china yuck. the baffles inside were too large, i had to maodify them with my hammer er i mean my modifying tool. they fit fine now. and no they wernt on backwards. the lifters just kept tapping them drove me nuts. i got them fairly cheap though, was like 32 bucks with shipping. be carefull with the chrom waternecks though, i thought i was geting a great deal on mine and after 2 months it was so warpped the coolent was just flowing out of it, i went back to a cast iron one and painted it. i love chrome though, my el camino project had 1400 dollars of chrome under the hood. you had to have sunglasses to view it on a sunny day. It was either chrome , steelbraided or polished. hell i even had steel braided vacum lines. My truck will be the same when it is done.
As for you question on weight. well the intake manifold is over 100 pounds and the heads weigh in around 70 pounds each. so i would shoot for about 600 pounds. get a decent engine stand, dont buy the walmart special, it is designed for small blocks. make sure the stand is rated for at least 750 pounds. It should have 4 caster wheels not 3, the stand should sit on a H bracket, not a T bracket. And for goodness sakes get some help and be carefull, no sudden moves. all that weight will crush bones if they are in the way and dont forget to unhook the speedo cable. and buy steve christs book, and buy a shop manual for your year. and ask 300 questions a week on here and read every post and while your at it send everyone here 1 dollar.lol just kidding, make it 2 dollars lol thats about it for now, good luck

Jim

I took springs out of the F100 that my FE engine came out of. If I cut them down to the appropriat size, would they work in the stang? How much will the exhaust manifolds cost to get this monster in?

thx
