Optimal RPM's

Pardon the question if it sounds stupid, but I am wondering what the "optimal" rpms should be for my truck when idling warm and at 65 mph on the highway in 4th?

I have an 86' f-250 4x4 with a 351w, 4 spd manual n/odrv, 4x4 with 4.10 rear

Thanks for your info!

I am not sure but in my truck, I have a 1980 F100, with a inline 6 cylinder 300ci, 3 speed column shift, and in 3rd at 65mph my rpm is at 2300.

I don't know if it's similar to a v8, but could be close.

Idle speed should be around 600-800 RPMs. At speed, with a 4:10 rear and No overdrive you're really gonna be singing, probably above 3K RPMs

My truck has a 302 with 3:55 gears and OD, if I leave it in 3rd (high) at 50 mph it's at about 2200 RPMs. In OD 50 is about 1700 RPMs
