What should I get? I want this thing to be loud and **** my neighbors of when I leave for work at 5:30 in the morning. J/K.
But I do want it to be loud...glass packs, flowmasters...What should I get?
I had a 97 150 and I installed a 2 chambered flow-master. The installer was real good at tuning the right sound with his pipes. That 5.4 was just right. Get on it it was sweet sounding, that old time throaty v8!! Nice and comfortable sounding on the highway, not tiring or too much at highway speeds..I had the work done for half the price the borla system cost. Also afte three years one of the brackets broke so I brought it back and he changed all the brackets for no charge....When I ever see my noe ride I will take it over to him for another one..
My friend just got Flowmasters (he doesn't know which series) on his 4.2 V6, and I love them! So, this week I'm going to have Flowmaster 40 Series put on my truck, I want the neighbors to complain!
I got the 40. It sounds good but no where near as loud as I wanted. If I accelerate hard you can hear it good. It may be louder than I realize because it is so quiet in the cab. I get a nice rumble cruising at 60mph. I guess I'll be satisfied for now.
Does anyone have a name brand of duals, that is quiet and just gives the extra performance? I would like the extra horsepower but not affect the sound inside the cab.

I got the Flowmaster Series 70 Big Block II. Its a single inlet dual outlet. It's the quietest muffler Flowmaster makes. Low mellow tone at idle and sounds good when I kick it. I can hear it somewhat in the cab but it's not obtrusive. Cruizing at highway speed I can't really hear it unless I kick it down a gear.--Jack
I got a Flowmaster 40 Series single in, dual out, with 3" chrome tips today, and I love it! It is sooo loud and just great! I can't stop crusing around! I'll post pictures as soon as the weather clears up.
