Quick question. I'm all stock. My speedo is also off by 2MPH per 2 GPS units I have. Running stock 265 tires. One deales looked at me and said we can't fix that. Is ther a programer out on the market that can change speed ratio/speed.
The dealer can Program your truck to your tire size. Talk to the Service Manager, if he can't help, go to another dealer. Also don,t rely on the GPS, check with mile markers on the highway. Good luck.

Don't rely on GPS? That is sort of an odd statement. I have mapped out routes using Topo maps compared to GPS with the same results. I have also compared my GPS to the mile markers once when I was bored on a trip and they were the same. The GPS units use the same technology and the same satellites as what our military uses. So how are you saying don't rely on GPS?
Munkey, my question was I wanted to make sure you were running 295 tires instead of 285's. Maybe the reason we are both coming up with accurate speedo readings are my BFG MT's are listed as 33.1 compared to your 33.4 and who knows if our speedos were reading the same with our stock 265 tires to start with. I have heard that BFG tires normally run a little taller than advertised whereas my Baja Claws which they say are a 33-inch tire normally run smaller. My truck is totally stock too, but I do run a snow plow so I have the plow package.
I dont want to switch gears here to much but I also am wondring about the 285's compared to my 265's. But I can only find the BFG's in Load D ratings. I have a PSD and I have to run 80 lbs in front to keep the tires from squatting. The BFG load D tires have a maximum air pressure at 65lbs. I currently have Load E and want to put them back on but really like the BFG All-Terrain tires. Do any of you guys run Load D tires with PSD and how is the front tire squatting.
i have bfg at's 285/75-16 they are load range D. i run the fronts at 60psi and the backs at 50 unless i have my camper in the truck. the tires do not sqaut and look fine. even though they are D rated and the stock 265's are E(i never really looked at that) since they are a bigger tire they are rated to carry more weight(look at the max load rating on the two tires)
Hey Munkey, if you get a chance i would really like to see a shot of your truck from the side with the tires straight. I'm considering replacing my 265's with some 295 AT's. I would love to see what it looks like. Thanks..
