I call Ford yesterday and girl there told me to turn my ignition on and off 6 to 8 time then press my lock button on the new keyless entry remote and the infared will program my new remote.
This is not working!! If I keep doing this I'm going to wear out my ignition. Any ideas?
What part of the keyless entry are you trying to program?
If its the keyfob she is right. But you have to do this without starting the truck. Just turn the key on and off 8 times within 10 seconds and the doors will lock and unlock. YOu then must program all the keyfobs you want to use. Do so by pressing lock button on each one, one at a time. When finished turn off the switch.
I could use some assistance with this process also.....
In addition to what was mentioned above. (and having tried it MANY times)My dealer said that there was a connector in/behind the glove compartment that when bridged and the key then turned on would allow the new keyfob(s) to be programmed. I can't find any thats not connected & has 2 wires. (I have found 2 connectors, one w/ 1 wire & 1 with 4 (if I remember correctly) wires
I am having to replace 2 damaged keyfobs & would appreciate any help.
thanks in advance....

It varies by vehicle, model and year. Some cycle only 5 times to go into program mode. Some vehicles DONT HAVE factory keyless. Are you sure you arent trying to program key fobs to a vehicle without keyless?
Russell, the much older model vehicles had the jumper... what year and model do you have?
Russell this is the exact wording from the service manual for Bronco..
To program (or reprogram) transmitter(s) into the remote entry receiver module, perform the following steps:
Turn key to the ON or ON/ACCESSORY position and momentarily short the two terminals of the program connector (C4) (a two-pin connector taped to the wire assembly connected to the remote entry receiver module, approximately 6 inches from the remote entry receiver module). All doors should lock then unlock. Remove shorting pin.
Press any button on transmitter. All doors should lock then unlock to verify that the transmitter has been programmed. If door locks do not respond, press button again (up to three times maximum with the same transmitter).
Repeat Step 2 to program additional transmitters into the remote entry receiver module (up to four transmitters maximum).
The remote entry receiver module is located in the LH side of the lower instrument panel to the right of the steering column, just above the driver's right foot area.
It should have a premium sound amplifier for the stereo on the same bracket.
Hi - I have a 94 F150, and saw a post that may lead to some help for me....I have tried jumping the pins in the programming connector without any success. I sit in the truck, fasten my seatbelt, unlock the doors, turn key to ACC (or to RUN), then jump the pins. The doors do not lock/unlock to confirm programming mode. Any idea if I run a voltmeter across those pins what I'll find? My one remote works fine...just trying to add additional remotes. Appreciate any thoughts.....thanks! Charlie
