Potatoes
Well i got my garden tilled and my seed potatoes put out today. while planting i got to wondering if there was a way to Freeze potatoes, Because we all know canning is about a thing of the past.My cellar didnt make it thru the winter so now i have to find a way to keep my fresh potatoes. Any ideas?????

Potatoes are so cheap and bulky that it probably isnt cost effective to freeze them.
A 50 lb bag of #1 grade retails here for $5 cdn. they are a victim of the Akins diet and demand is slumping.
If your having problems storing potatoes, make sure your storage area is cool (not cold) and dark with plenty of ventilation.
Handle them gently! "hard as rocks, fragile as eggs!" is a phrase you'll hear inthe produce industry.
Use new certified seed every year. certified means that the seed stocks are a pure variety and are free of diseases. It's tempting to plant the end of last year's , but you could run into problems that affect storage qualitiesand crop yield.
