My chrome tips were starting to rust, so I decided to go with stainless steel. The old tips dumped out right behind the wheels, but the new tips were a bit longer and would not fit at the same angle so I stuck them out diagonally in each corner. I’m not sure if I like it or not, and am thinking of taking it back out and rerouting straight out the back. Give me some constructive criticism to help me make up my mind.
wow, pretty nice looking truck with those chrome accents and the color matched hood scoops. Where did you get those chrome wheel well guards??? I've never seen those for our trucks.
Tom
p.s. Those chrome tips sticking out the sides are HUGE, almost as big as a diesel truck exhaust. I think they're too big.
I personally love the look of the tip poking behind the rear tire. Can you try cutting the pipe so the tip extends where you want it? I am going to cut my piping back another 8 inches and insert 12x3.5" tips.
To me at least, the huge tips are as much to adjust to the exhaust tone I like as for looks. You might be surprised at how this truck rumbles with the dual flow’s and those giant (bazooka) tips. They are actually the same diameter as my old tips, but I got to admit they look much bigger in the corners.
Garret,
I thought about cutting them off to fit, but it seemed like a shame to spend the money and cut up the new equipment. I liked the “behind the tires look much better” and will probably switch back sometime soon.
Sigma Not to get off the subject . I can like the tips the way you have them. It looks like you have one hot truck there. Anybody ever try to race your truck or see what you can do. When you get on the throttle does your exhaust really cacle. The first thing you see when you get behind your truck is those big tips. It make other people come up behind you either respect you or challenge you. Just my thoughts.
One yea, and two nea’s. Maybe I should have started a poll.
Yea, sometimes it seems like everyone wants to stoplight to stoplight with me. You win some and you loose some. It’s all part of the fun. The little V6 wins more often than it looses and it usually holds it’s own and makes the other car/truck work for it even if it’s a loss.
My thoughts exactly...its a very aggressive look. Matches the front view of your truck. I dig em. The only reason I suggest cutting it, is because I got the aluminum gibsons, so you really couldnt see it, and I am **** about appearance. I measured out the exact look I wanted and cut the end of the pipe accordingly. Its all personal preference. My preference involves monster tips and Debbie.
I bought the fender trim local, but the shop went out of business. I’m not sure of the brand but I have seen several web sites that offer the same or similar stainless trim. As a matter of fact, I think I saw them just the other day at stylinconcepts.
hu, huh, huh hhhhu, huh....yeah, yeah, ye ye ye ye ya ya yeah...hhhhhhhhuuuuh, hu, hu, hu, .....you said **** and Debbie in the same post. hhhhhhu, hu, hu
