New exhaust plans

I've ordered my new exhaust parts. Here is the te parts ordered ,let me know if anybody has experience with these mufflers. I want a unique, confident look and sound to go wit hthe motor I just built.

Brand: MAGNA FLOW
Description: 5inch x 8inch Oval Body Stainless Steel Muffler
Note: 2 1/2inch Single/Dual
Note: 20inch Overall Length, 14inch Body Length
Quantity: 2
Price: 101.69
Subtotal: 203.38

Brand: JARDINE - THORLEY
Description: Rolled Edge Slash Cut Big Bore Chrome Exhaust Tip
Quantity: 4
Price: 24.99
Subtotal: 99.96

As you may see above, there will be 2 mufflers, both are a single input dual output muffler. All plumbing is 2.5 inches. It's a dual/dual system, with 2 pipes exiting each side in front of the rear tires. The tips are rolled lip, angled tips that will be set flush with the side of the truck and parallel with the other tip. I should be able to put a ruler across the tips and be flush and parallel with the bed. Make sense?

I may try to post pics of the tips.

OK , here are some pics of the parts, and a rough drawing of the plan.

link-www.thedreyerfamily.com/69f250/67f250/exhaust.htm

The mufflers are only 5x8", so I'm hoping for a bit of sound. I'm hoping the dual/dual creates a unique resonance resulting in an atypical sound. Something different but aggressive.

BTW, is welding this stainless going to be difficult for my exhaust guy. Or, should I try to use clamps on the mufflers and header connections (ball and socket on the FPA.)?

Actually, my 67 at present is running 255/70r16s at all 4s..I guess the drawing was a bit dreamy :-)

I may build a hot-rod out of this chassis with the fatttest mickeys I can fit...! I am still undecided.

Just my opiniom here gtex but I have had the exhaust that wxits in front of the tire with an agressive note and for a daily driver the rumble inside the cab will wear on you after a while. If it is just a toy/hotrod the I would say go for it. It sounds like it will look cool. I am too lazy to type in the link to look at your drawing, is there another way to click on it?

Take the mouse and put the cursor in front of the link, hold down the left mouse button while you drag it across the link. Now that it's highlighted, put the pointer on it and click the right mouse button. Click on "copy" and the highlighted link is copied into the clipboard. Now put the pointer in the address window and click the the right mouse button, then click on "paste". The link will be placed there and then hit "go".

I used to be able to put in a link that was clickable. But now it get's mangled into some almost useless text. Anybody know what's up?

Are we not supposed to post links? Below, is what happens when I simply copy the link ino the post, like I normally do. It's not clickable and it's a bit harder to get the actual link information out of it.

Links are fine. I've had the same thing happen a few times in the past, it's some hiccup with the system. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it don't.

I orderd 4 tips and 2 mufflers...today I recieved 1 tip via UPS...how does that happen?

Hopefully, I'll get the rest tomorrow. I've got the body swapped over from the 67 onto the 69 chassis with ethe FE446 motor running..

Sounds pretty good , but I'm really excited about the look and sound I should et from these parts.

What do you all think about H or X pipes? Worth my time and money?

It is the hack that searches through the post for que words and links them to the catalog. It's trying to hot link "Exhaust" in your file name and mucking up the works.

Solution is to change the file name.
