hey all, i just got an 84 4x4 yesterday and there are a few problems with it but im looking to fix it up. i dont know a thing about it other than its torn to hell and its a 4x4 v8, lol. the carb went out on the last owner and so it sat out for more than a year, now the engine is frozen. i poured oil down the spark plug holes and hopfully itll break free tomorrow. can anyone tell me some good info about the truck? i know most of the features but what kind of engine is it? any good websites to help me learn about it? also, how much would a used carb cost? im just trying to get it running, nothing special. thanks,
Look at your VIN#, it will tell you what the factory motor is/was. The engine code is the 8th digit or letter:
F=302cid, 2barrel carb
G=351Wcid, 2bbl
H=351WH.O., 4bbl Holley
A carb rebuild kit is under $20, a new aftermarket 4bbl is about $250-300.
This a good site for Bronco info and help, just do a search!
Welcome to FTE!!!
what does the h.o. stand for? the carb is a holly, thats why im asking. thanks for all of the help guys. does anyone know of a company that has aftermarket interior peices? i need the top dash, and a lot of the trim peices around the headliner and such. thanks again.
High Output. As for interior pieces, they are becoming harder to find. You might want to check out www.motorhaven.com and jeffsbroncograveyard.com . Also, you'd be surprised what you can find on ebay.
