Just changed my TPS sensor, and now I have picked up a hesitation and a backfire. Vehicle idles fine, but has a slight hesitation when first apply power, and if I press hard on the pedal it will backfire on me. Just changing the TPS wouldn't cause that would it?
I am going to change the fuel filter next. The inertia switch on a '85 XLT, where is it located? How long is the normal bleed down time till engine will die? Don't know if filter has ever been changed, doubt it though.
If this doesn't cure problem with the hesitation, what would my next step be.... regulator maybe?...
if it's the same place as mine on my 88 it us under the dash on the firewall about 2 inches to the left of the brake pedal. Mine's a brown box about 2 inches by 1 inch, check there
