SBV45,

She is completely stock. It is a June 2003 build, never been flashed.

Hot Spot,

DON'T FLASH IT!

At least until they return the mileage and performance.

they all have computer, I would guess you are talking about after market programer or chip, it changes the factory settings and usally you get better mpg, along with more power.

mountainhoundf350, it's an option that tells you your mpg on the over head display. I don't have one either. I must calculate my mileage the old fashioned way.

I have the overhead consol and this fill-up I got 16.8 and guess what, that is exactly what my consol said. I reset it the last time I filled up....400 miles ago. I have posted before that I feel I have THE WORST driving conditions for fuel economy...start - stop - start - stop...etc. I have 22 mile comute and takes me anywhere from 30 min to 1 hour depending on traffic on the highway. I am right under 1,000 miles right now. I am changing the oil this weekend and next weekend I am driving 400 miles empty and pulling an 8,000 # boat back that 400 miles. I am excited to make that trip.

I have the same feelings as HotSpot. I love this truck, it is very powerful. The truck is completly stock and will remain that way. I have really babied this truck for the break-in period, but have gotten into the throttle briefly recently. I turned left from a stop sign (trans never left 1st gear) and mashed it. It let the tires go and even spun a little when it shifted into 2nd gear.....needless to say I was shocked and had a big ugly grin on my face the rest of the way home.

cads03,

I had a similar experience. I mashed it one day running about 20mph on a wet road, she broke loose and started fish tailing. After I changed pants, I had the same grin my friend.

pickupman2004: ask your 'dealer' if he drives a 250/350--bet you he doesn't. Dealers very seldom drive anything that he would check mileage on. He's jerking you when he says 20-22 after breakin--that is the ultimate under the best conditions--go back and ask the same guy to verify his statement.
With my 350/6.0/3.73 babying it, I get 16-18; have seen 19+ and 12. With the foam problem, I don't think you can EVER get an accurate measurement on any tankful. Until multiple tankfuls under similar conditions are run, it is extremely hard to get a feel for how you are doing.

I do know one thing for sure--I go over 100 to 175 miles per tankful further on fuel that is about 5-15 cents cheaper per gallon, than I got with my V10.

$11 per month for the warranty extension and for the quality care service contract.

After 3years 36000 miles, the Quality Care service contract has a $50 deductible. There is no deductible for the extended warranty.

mileage
I have a hard time believing that any 6.0 gets over 16mpg I have talked to over 50 6.0 owners and not one of them so far has got that good of mpg, most are around 9 to 14 on the hwy and that stinks from, someone who has had a 7.3 and the mpg are much better then 6.0. another thing is all these guys saying there 6.0 will blow away 7.3 it has 35 lbs more torque then 7.3 and 50 hp but the hp is what makes it seem like it is a much more powerful engine. that plus the transmission change which is now geared lower in first is the change. I WOULD GLADLY TAKE MY 7.3 BACK AND LET FORD DO THERE R&D ON SOMEONE WHO USES THERE TRUCK AS A TOY, I GOT MINE FOR WORK. you spent 1500 dollare with banks and the 7.3 will walk on the 6.0 and pass you at the fuel station , do I sound hostle paid 40k for truck that gets 12.8 on the hwy and 8.2 pulling after ford told me it would do 8% better then 7.3 been to 4 different ford store none can find any thing wrong. And off the record 2 different techs. have told me all most everone of there repeat diesel owners are having the same low mpg problems I have . and what is worse to me is all of these people saying my truck is great, and then posting 9 to 11 mpg pulling 2 and 3k loads that is terrible and proves to me that most of these people are first time diesel owners who are in love with the power and dont even know that there getting bad mpgs. sorry for the venting I FEEL BETTER NOW.

I get 12.8 - 13.5 MPG around town. The only highway run that I have been on, Houston to Crested Butte Co. I got 18.37 MPG cruising 75-85 MPH. I was loaded with about 1500LBS of cargo and 4 adults. No additives and no modifications. I am gonna buy the Predator and hope to pick up some MPG's. When I tow my 16' lowboy trailer I get 12.5 MPG around town. Oh by the way around town I have a lead foot.

My 6.0 with a build date of 04/03 I get around 17-18 mpg highway cruising at 75-80 mph and around 15 mpg city. Truck runs great and I have no regrets about purchasing this truck.
