I have a 99 F350 6 Speed and I lost my cluch! It is not a slipp it is no cluch. I think P bearing went or something is this something that should be covered under 100K warenty? Should I even try or just get the wrenchs out? Any help would be great.
Well now the cluch is done but it felt like a spring when it first happened. I had to drive 200 mile with 7 ton of rock on a 40 ' dovetail so now I have nothing. My big question is: is this a driveline problem or is it brekage?? If I can Ford cover the cost that would be great but not alot of hope for that.
Hopefully it was a spring instead of the pilot bearing, and hopefully it didn't do any damage to the input shaft while bouncing around in there $$$.
The clutch is considered a "normal" wear out item and will not be covered under the 100K, unless it trashed the tranny with it, then you might be able to talk them into offsetting some of it.
Get the wrenchs out. Ford won't cover it. You may have snapped the clutch fork which Ford has had numerous problems. When doing the clutch be sure to replace the fork as well. Trucks built after 6/00 have the new style fork. Give me a call if you need any help or have any additional questions.

Well the fork didn't snap as far as I can figuer out the throw out bearing seezed and from me driving it all the fingers on the preasure plate go eaten. The input shaft has a sleave over it that can be removed and replaced for $20. The only sings I had that something was going wrong was it was hard to get into 1st and reverse.
I realy can't say what was the origanel problem but I will say if you truck is hard to get into 1st and reverse it will brake.
Also I did replace the master and slave before this happend and it did no good. But I had to replace it again since it got chewed up when everything broke.
If I would have to make a guese at what went wrong to begin with would be that the throw out got tight on the input shaft and was staying against the p plate. The cluch looked great (over 90%) but since it seen some hard times I put a new one in. Funny thing is you could still see the turn marks on the flywheel and the p-plate. Oh yeh and I never ride the cluch (old man would yell if foot anywhere near the pedel).
